Share Innovations offers you the opportunity to travel to Melbourne for a week to visit innovative childrens centres.
  • Join a small group of teachers (maximum 5)
  • Visit 6 children’s centres
  • Have the opportunity to talk to teachers in small groups
  • Go shopping for unusual resources
  • Spend some time at the botanical gardens discovering the “Harry Potter Children’s Garden

One of the most rewarding experiences as an early childhood educator is to visit other centre’s, see different practices, get different ideas and talk to peers. This not only reaffirms what you do, but also provides the opportunity to be inspired and reflect on your practices.

Share Innovations provides you with the opportunity to travel with a small group (maximum 5) to Melbourne Australia, for a week, to visit Innovative Early Childhood Services whose practices are based on the Reggio Emilia Approach. These centres are located within a local municipality which is recognised as a leader in the provision of innovative early childhood services, to cater for the largest population of 0-4year olds in Australia.

This trip will provide you not only with the opportunity to visit a number of services, but you will be able to meet and talk to teachers during regular small discussion sessions. Ongoing support will also be available to you on your return to Auckland…..  

Tour program
 

  • We depart Auckland on a Sunday - Free time.
  • Monday – Discussion session re philosophy etc. in the morning followed by visits to 2 centres in the afternoon.
  • Tuesday - Discussion session (with teachers) about previous days centre visits, followed by visits to 2 more centers.
  • Wednesday – Shopping for resources at IKEA
  • Thursday - Visit 2 more centres in the morning and discussion session (with teachers) in the afternoon.
  • Friday - Visit more centers or shopping
  • Saturday - Depart Melbourne for Auckland.
  • Approximate Costs: $2,000.00 per person
